The world in union....at Myrtle St!

As part of Hutt Old Boys Marist's wish to encourage international visitors to enjoy the hospitality of the clubhouse, it was decided to ask the kapahaka group from Nae Nae College, commissioned for the production of the new video on this website, to provide a cultural element to make three special nights during the Rugby World Cup.

The three occasions set down for September 16th, 24th, and October 7th.

More than fifty overseas vistors, representing Australia, South Africa, France, Canada, England, Argentina and Fiji, many of whom had come along from the Hutt Park Holiday Park, were seen mingling with the regulars in the Myrtle Street headquarters, and they needed no second invitation from the kapahaka group to join in and demonstrate their performing skills in Ka Mate Ka Mate.

And there was the customary exchange of ties between Club Chairman John (Jock) Sheehan, and members of a club from the Mendoza region of Argentina.

Check out the photos from September 16th, here;
